This magnificent Victorian mansion was built in 1927 by William and Martha Chapman. Their architect visited England to study Tudor manor houses. In 1941 at a famous Christmas Party, the Von Trapp family sang in the great hall. After Martha's death in 1960, the mansion was used as a seminary and drug rehabilitation center. After that it was vacant, vandalized, and burned, and slated for demolition. Thanks to the Heritage Conservancy this magnificent structure was saved and completely rehabilitated. Today it houses the Conservancy's offices and can be rented for special events.

In the Bryn Athyn Cathedral there are no right angles or straight lines. The walls of the building are skewed against each other, bowing out in the middle only to return at the opposite wall. This subtle quality represents the unpredictable path of human growth. This spiritual principle is the very foundation of the design of this web site. We welcome you and invite you to come again.

The Holcombe-Jimison Farmstead Museum is dedicated to the preservation of Hunterdon County's agricultural heritage from the 18th into the 20th centuries. The Museum is housed in the restored 3-story bank barn that was built into the hillside to make both floors accessible from ground level. Livestock were kept on the lower level, crops above. In bad weather, the farmer could feed without going outdoors. Today, some of the exhibits arranged in the barn cover the tools and equipment used by the farmer to raise and harvest the crops that provided fodder for livestock and commodities to sell. Other displays cover the domestic chores of the farmer's wife in the preparation and preservation of food and the making of clothing.
