Celebrate the enduring, vibrant culture of a people that fights for freedom!
Horsham, PA - Sunday, August 27; 12:00 - 8:00 PM. The 26th Annual Ukrainian Show More...Folk Festival & Summer Concert will be held at the Ukrainian American Sport Center -- Tryzub (www.tryzub.org), County Line and Lower State Roads, Horsham, PA.
Exciting, spectacular, dazzling, breathtaking, exhilarating, spirited, soulful, enchanting, captivating, and intriguing - modest words which describe but by no means capture the essence of Ukrainian folk art, music, song and dance. From the rich color and deep symbolism of the delicate "pysanka" (Ukrainian Easter Egg) to the thunderous, power, rhythm and strength of "HOPAK" - the world's most exciting ethnic dance, and every brilliant "Kolomiyka" (polka) and soulful folk song in between, experience the 26th ANNUAL UKRAINIAN FOLK FESTIVAL, celebrating the 26th anniversary of our ancestral homeland's independence. Enjoy an outdoor summer stage concert and show (1:30 to 4:30 PM), a public social dance (4:30 - 8:00 PM), homemade Ukrainian foods and baked goods, BBQ pit, standard picnic fare, kid's fun area, vendors grove, arts and crafts displays and bazaar, cool refreshments, Live Reenactments from Ukrainian history and Ukrainian hospitality.
"UNITED UKRAINE - UNITED WITH US"
A Resplendent Outdoor Summer Concert
Marking Ukraine's Independence, the Unity of her People, Their Struggle for Freedom & Dignity & Ukraine's Entry into the Family of Advanced Democratic Nations!
The artists (dance troupes, musicians, singers and ensembles that have performed in previous years) have created a dynamic and integrated collaborative program. The artistic unity underscores the theme: "United Ukraine; United with Us".
Recent events in Ukraine, the Euromaidan Protest and Revolution of Dignity as well as the twilight struggle against unlawful Russian aggression, have forged a unified Ukrainian national identity, both in Ukraine and in the Diaspora. America's support of Ukraine's commitment to a self-determined democratic future - to life, liberty, freedom and justice - has created permanent bonds of friendship between the two nations. This year's festival honors these special relationships and developments.

Starting off your night of fiery blues is Joanna Connor and her incendiary slide playing. Joanna became a fast online sensation when a video of her playing Show More...at the North Atlantic Blues Festival went viral, with viewers amazed at and praising her scorching slide guitar. Elmore Magazine interviewed her about it and commented that "that video has gone around the world a few times getting millions of views and being reposted in Japan, Russia, and all over Europe. [Joanna thinks] people loved the combination. Here's a woman who looks like somebody's mom and she's playing like this." - Elmore Magazine.

Closing out the evening will be the return of internationally renowned Albert Castiglia. He sings from the gut, shoots guitar licks from the hip and writes songs that articulate ones hopes, fears and heartaches. Releasing eight albums in two decades, he arrived on the scene after Buddy Guy's iconic harp blower Junior Wells heard the young bluesman sing and invited him into his solo band for several world tours. The New York born Miami raised Castiglia to an Italian father and Cuban mother combines all influences to create his unique style of modern day blues with a traditional core.. ...Show Less

The 18th Annual Village Renaissance Faire creates an interactive world where attendees of all ages take an entertaining, educational, and engaging stroll through the arts and history. Faire goers encounter jousting knights, dangling aerialists, and flying birds of prey. But that's not all! Shows and activities cover a range of ages and interests and surround the faireways, on the stages and all around. Performers bring literature to life throughout the day with shows and fairground encounters based on a new storyline each year. Danger shows feature a working trebuchet, living chess, archery matches, and fire breathers. For the music lover, there are dancers, musicians, and madrigals at every turn. While the wee ones are preoccupied with free children's crafts, a kids kingdom, Gnome Depot, and children's shows, like juggling, story-telling and Punch & Judy, there are plenty of fine artisans featuring clothing, jewelry, pottery, and giftware to browse. Visiting historians are treated to our large living history square and working artisans featuring blacksmithing, glassworking, and woodworking.
No two seasons, nor two days are the same, and this year is no different as new additions are abound and exciting. A Sneakpeak of rising artists venue, the Pirates of Folly Fortune, a large pyrate ship, and even a unicorn will be strolling the grounds this year. And thats only the beginning of the excitement and additions. And if this year holds true additional acts will be added upto the week of the faire, so stay attentive, or best yet, just go and see for yourself.
The Fun for all is not yet over, as all ages can enjoy our medieval gaming glen, thrown weapons, Fight-a-Knight booth, pony and carriage rides, a royal petting zoo, and so much more. When the need for a rest overtakes our guests, they can enjoy a festive turkey leg while listening to music at our covered lyrical stage or gazing upon our annual heraldry display. From the welcome one receives from our players at the opening of the gate, to all of the activities and shows, an enjoyable day is sure to be had. The Faire averages over 9,000 attendees, and always has more stages, activities and space to welcome you into the family this year. A Real Renaissance Faire right here in Bucks County with all the glamour and excitement for the entire family at a fraction of the price and distance--- Show More...and most impressive of all- ALL proceeds benefit the Village Library of Wrightstown.
The faire is limited to one weekend every September, so come this September 16 & 17, and find out what thousands before you have discovered and returned to year after year - that once you attend you will always come back....HUZZAH!!!!!

Star of the Day Journeys to the Dark Side this fall with Jekyll & Hyde The Musical.
Based on the classic story by Robert Louis Stevenson and featuring Show More...a thrilling score of pop rock hits from multi Grammy and Tony® nominated Frank Wildhorn and double Oscar and Grammy winning Leslie Bricusse, JEKYLL & HYDE has mesmerized audiences the world over. An evocative tale of two men, one a doctor, passionate and romantic, and the other, a terrifying madman, and two women, one beautiful and trusting and the other, beautiful and trusting only herself. Both unaware of his dark secret. Their story unfolds in this gripping musical thriller resplendent with a sumptuous score including the unforgettable, "This is the Moment," "Someone Like You" and "A New Life." It would be a sin to miss it.
As Star of the Day prepares to kick off the Halloween Season in Quakertown, they are looking to make it a more intimate experience for the audience by including the seating areas an extension of the stage. This intimate 185 seat black box thrust is the perfect venue to do just that. The director, Daniel Petrovich, a veteran to the stage in the Lehigh Valley, has kept the cast small in order to offer this intimate, chilling experience to everyone. Lighting and costumes will also help act as extension of the cast to create varying looks throughout the show.
Starring as Jekyll/Hyde is Brady Love. Mr. Love is fairly new to the Lehigh Valley. He just completed a run with Catasaqua Area Showcase Theatre as the Beast in Disney's Beauty and the Beast this past spring. In the role of Lucy Harris is Southern Lehigh High School graduate Lauren Jardine. These two powerhouse performers will be joined by a dynamic cast made of 18 talented actors from the Lehigh Valley and beyond. The show will be musically directed by Oliver Blatt, Choreographed by Kirsten Almeida, and Stage Managed by Alexis Leon.
Performances take place at McCoole's Arts & Events Place in Quakertown, PA September 15 - 30, 2017.
