CMO and VP of PR aim to inspire Bucks County middle and high school girls to pursue careers in STEM fields

Furia Rubel Communications executives Laura Powers and Sarah Larson recently presented at the 6th annual #girlSTEM Conference, which attracted more than 800 middle- and high school girls from schools across Bucks County to learn about pursuing careers in STEM, science, technology, engineering and math.

Powers, Furia Rubel’s Chief Marketing Officer, presented “Nitty Gritty Nerdy Tech Talk!” which discussed technology terms and acronyms used in technology today. Larson, Furia Rubel’s Vice President of Public Relations, presented "From Hedy Lamarr to Katherine Johnson: Honoring the Stories of Women in STEM," which highlighted the often-unheralded contributions of women in the sciences.

Presented by the Bucks County IU and the Bucks County Women’s Initiative, #girlSTEM 2017 was held at Delaware Valley University in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and was open to school-sponsored girls in grades 6 to 10.
